Mitchell Saranow
Illinois resident Mitchell Saranow is a business leader and a community leader that has established and guided a host of profitable companies and has lent insights to various civic, professional, and charitable groups. At present, he acts as Chairman of The Saranow Group, LLC, a venture capital outfit he launched 25 years ago with offices outside of Chicago.
After studying business at Northwestern University and graduating summa cum laude with his Bachelor's degree, Mitchell Saranow enrolled in a dual JD and MBA program at Harvard University, earning both degrees in 1971. While there, he gained distinction as a Baker Scholar by placing within the top 2 percent among first-year students. After leaving Harvard, he secured a role with Mayer Brown & Platt, a firm in Chicago that practices corporate and securities law. As an Attorney, Mitchell Saranow served on groups that represented high-profile clients such as United Airlines, Oscar Mayer, and General Electric.
Mitchell Saranow transitioned to business and finance in 1973 when he accepted the position of Assistant Vice President at Warburg Paribas Becker Inc., where he supported the launch of 25 cable television companies. He parlayed this experience into roles of increasing responsibility in subsequent years, which included positions as Vice President of Sunmark Companies and Chief Financial Officer at CFS Continental, Inc. Later, he operated as an independent financial advisor for a number of years before forming his current company.
Beyond these achievements, Mitchell Saranow has garnered several honors over the course of his career, including the Distinguished Service Award from the Juvenile Protective Association and the Distinguished Community Leadership Award from the Chicago chapter of the Anti-Defamation League.
